High School student Whitney Kropp bullied and pranked as a part of Homecoming Court
Starlets, I normally post interviews, music and updates on your favorite celebrities but I feel that story needs to be heard.
As you all know, PrettierThanPerez.com is a Bully Free Zone and I take stand against Bullying and support suicide prevention.
A story hit “Today Show” that touch my heart. High School student Whitney Kropp of Ogemaw Heights High School in West Branch, Michigan had to suffer a moment in her life as a modern day “Carrie.”
Carrie was the 1976 film where she was nominated and won Prom Queen but only as a prank to humiliate her.
Whitney Kropp was nominated as a part of the sophomore homecoming court this year, “Initially when she got home she was excited” her mother says but that excitement turned into humiliation and tears once she found out that students from her school were just pulling a prank.
Whitney was bullied, humiliated and ashamed from such a horrible high school act, that she no longer wanted to live. She tells the Today Show: “I felt like I wasn’t worthy. Why even be a part of this community, this world if I’m just going to be tossed around like basically a piece of trash.”Take a look at the story below:
Whitney’s horror has now turned into a Cinderella story. I’m so happy that members from her community or sticking up for Whitney and showing her that her existence is important too. A Facebook page was set up, called ‘Support Whitney Kropp. Also, Local companies offered to buy her dinner, take her picture, do her hair, nails, and dress her like a princess for the homecoming dance.
Whitney if you read this before Homecoming this Saturday, I just want you to know that “Suicide is not the answer, Your existence is important too!” Now DANCE and get a two step in for me too! *BESOS* (Spanish Kisses)
