Alicia Keys explains why “Put in a Love Song” Music Video with Beyonce was shelved
Fans, critics and magazines continue to hound Alicia Keys about what happened to the music video “Put in a Love song” featuring Beyonce?!?
The song wasn’t that great (In my opinion), but the duo still flew out to Brazil to shoot the music video. Photos leaked with hopes of the video leaking as well but it never made it’s debut. Finally Essence Magazine got “The Girl on Fire” to speak up about the project (kinda):
“Ohhh man! Y’all aren’t going to leave me alone about that! Sometimes with creative things [it] all comes together and it’s (makes perfection kissing noise) and sometimes things almost come together and it’s better to just leave it. So we love that song. We had a ball shooting the video. It just so happens that the whole thing, for some reason or another, didn’t quite come together so we just decided to leave it. And that’s what happened.”
That’s a very sugar coated dodging the question type of response. I’m not buying it. I wonder what REALLY happened here. Was it the label or maybe both divas had quite a bit of drama on set? We shall see if Beyonce ever speaks on it.
Starlets thoughts on why you believe the music video was shelved?
